Safe from the Flu

As you'll see, this has come together from the Lord's leading.

About a month after I started a biblically kosher diet in 2004, I found out why the animals that God said were not good for food in a book called The Makers Diet. What caught my attention was that the Jewish people, for the most part, were untouched during the Bubonic Plague because of their hygienic and/or dietary guidelines. So much so, that some other ethnic groups were blaming the Jews for starting it. Lord, could this be another reason why I should avoid certain foods?

In early 2005, I heard on the radio that the Center for Disease Control listed the Bird Flu Virus as a potential pandemic. In researching, I've found that the last pandemic was after World War I and I've read estimates that it killed between 50 to 100 million worldwide. I also read that they believe it was caused by a bird flu virus. Ok, Lord. So I have a possible pandemic and the past pandemic was caused by a bird flu virus.

In praying and doing more research on the web I found a newspaper article from China that states the bird flu virus is in a "mixing vessel" that can catch animal viruses and human viruses and therefore create a new strain that affects humans. That vessel is a pig.

"The finding is alarming because pigs can become a "mixing vessel" for the flu virus. The immune system of pigs is similar to that in humans and the animals suffer from a wide variety of diseases that also infect people.

Scientists say the bird flu pathogen could swap genes with a human influenza virus inside a pig.

The World Health Organization has said this could result in the emergence of a new subtype of virus for which humans would have no immunity."

So, I have a Biblical Kosher diet, I have a bird flu pandemic, and I have the virus swapping genes with a pig to create a human virus. I know the pig is an unclean animal but can I find information linking a Biblically Kosher diet from delivering us from a virus that comes from a pig? Is there a link Lord?

I was watching TBN one day and I came across Ted Broer and he was talking about 10 foods you have to avoid and pork was at the top of the list! I needed to see if he had any more info in his books (I couldn’t find any information online) so at the beginning of June [2005] I received one of his books that I purchased through ebay. He, again, mentioned that you should avoid pork and then he listed a research paper called "The Adverse Influence of Pork Consumption on Health". There was only one result in Google but it was what I was looking for. It mentioned the pandemic after WWI and he not only links it to pork consumption but also says: It should also be pointed out that influenza epidemics are virtually unheard of in the Muslim countries where pork is not eaten. I couldn’t believe it! In regards to influenza his research indicates: People who do not eat pork, usually do not suffer from viral influenza!

I couldn’t believe it! I felt a leading from the Lord and the theory was proved! If you follow the biblical food guidelines you could be spared from an influenza pandemic!

I put some “flesh” on it! Can you imagine having the peace of safety and not of harm while everyone around you is fearing of death! Can you imagine the testimony to others while proclaiming that God is your refuge and by following His ways you would be protected from harm! Can you imagine the harvest?
