WWJESo, did you know what WWJE meant? WWJD has been around for a while so I thought I'd apply it to another aspect of Jesus' life: What Would Jesus Eat? God has led me to follow a biblically kosher diet. Biblical kosher refers to the dietary laws as outlined in Leviticus 11. Rabbinic kosher is much more complicated and includes a whole body of tradition that distinguishes it from biblical kosher. The change in my diet has not been too difficult. Other than bacon, I really didn't eat pork. Lobster was too expensive but clams and shrimp were another story! It is interesting to look back on my life and I noticed that I didn't like a lot of the foods that God has prohibited! I enjoy following God's guidelines, it has involved Him in another aspect of my life that I do a lot of! The Lord has led me twice to follow His guidelines. The first time I didn't really know why (and didn't ask) but this last time I agreed to follow it, I asked why. I was really confused when I first found out the specifics behind why God has prohibited certain foods. I had a lot of questions like "Did Jesus' death on the cross release us from these guidelines?" and "Is eating non-biblically a sin?" and "Can eating a biblically kosher diet save you from sickness?". In the future, you will find my answers to these questions and more on this page. |
