WWJE

So, did you know what WWJE meant? WWJD has been around for a while so I thought I'd apply it to another aspect of Jesus' life: What Would Jesus Eat?

I started to eat biblically kosher for health reasons. Biblical kosher refers to the foods listed in Leviticus, I avoid the foods (for example, pork and shellfish) listed as inedible. Rabbinic kosher is much more complicated and includes a whole body of tradition that distinguishes it from biblical kosher. As you will learn from the articles posted here, the animals that God did not intend for food are very bad for your health.

As I learned more about the food guidelines, I came to realize that they were put there because God cares for us. He, the creator of mankind, knows what's best. As a father cares for his children, so has God given all of Torah for our benefit and for His honor.

I enjoy following God's food guidelines. It has become a form of worship for me. The Practice of the Presence of God by Brother Lawrence talks about thinking and submitting to God continuously. When you involve God into the foods you eat, you are literally thinking of God all the time! At every meal from morning to nighttime, at the grocery store and restaurants. You honor Him by obeying Him.
