My View on the Bird Flu News

October 11, 2005

One of the reasons I started this web site was so that I could share with the world what I believe is going to happen in the future and how I believe God has made Provision to keep His people safe. As the bird flu is in the news all the time now, I hope you are walking in His path of safety and are not living in fear.

There is something about this bird flu or the threat of it that has made me very uncomfortable. Something like this, that affects everyone worldwide, will give the perfect opportunity for a false savior to rise and save the world! For example, President Bush had a press conference and in the transcript he said "Obviously, it would be helpful if we had a breakthrough in the capacity to develop a vaccine that would enable us to feel comfortable here at home, that not only would first responders be able to be vaccinated, but as many Americans as possible, and people around the world." This statement now brings me to vaccines. Don't be lulled into complacency by the false hope President Bush is giving regarding a vaccine. President Bush and the government may have a lot of vaccine producers but it is not possible to have a vaccine for a virus that may not have human to human transmission. Only when this is proven and the exact strain of influenza can be found can a vaccine be produced and this will take at least six months. Why? They have to find the strains, then they have to characterize those strains, they have to be grown in tissue culture and grown in eggs because the manufactured virus comes from egg cultures. They can't do anything with the bird flu virus as it is now (a bird flu virus) because it kills the egg (a bird)! It should be noted, as well, that viruses have the ability to mutate to survive. Vaccinations are designed for specific strains of flu and are effective only as long as the virus doesn't change form. Just as bacteria can become resistant to antibiotics, viruses can become resistant to medication, as well. Please don't put your trust in a vaccine.
